DIY Braided Scarf Statement Necklace

DIY Braided Scarf Necklace
Whenever I go to thrift stores, one of the first spots I always look is in the scarf section. In part because vintage scarf prints are so fun and colorful– and in part you can never go wrong with a stash of scarves when you’re a craftaholic. πŸ™‚

One problem I’ve encountered over the years of my scarf collecting is that there are too many pretty scarves I just can’t bring myself to cut up– so I’ve just got TONS of scarves around. One solution I’ve found for this dilemma is to make a braided scarf necklace. The best part? The scarves stay in their original condition and I’ve got a great statement necklace. πŸ˜‰

How to make a braided scarf statement necklace:

You need:
-3 small scarves of similar size
-Brooch (Optional, but fun.)

The first thing you need to do is start a knot so that you can braid the scarves together. It helps to have one end longer than the other two so that it is easier to tie the necklace later. Once you have your knot, just braid the scarves together!

You can add a brooch as a little extra accent to your necklace– I’m always looking for new, modern ways to wear pins. πŸ˜‰

Tie the necklace around your neck and you’re good to go! A nice simple DIY. πŸ™‚
