DIY Rhinestone Headband

DIY Rhinestone Headband
When it comes to hair accessories, I've worn, (ahem, *nested*) everything from flowers, to tinsel, to feathers, and even tiny birds in my hair. My philosophy is that my hair's already crazy curly, whats the difference if I add something else in there? :)

Project 365
A couple months ago, I was gifted these incredible boxes from For The Makers. Now, I work for a subscription box company so I know a bit about them, but the For The Makers boxes are truly awesome. If you sign up, each month you'll get supplies for four projects delivered to your door. Although their price point is a bit steep, $29/mo, the things they include in the boxes to make are incredible. But then again, what else do you expect from the founders who used to work with Anthropologie, Kate Spade, and JCrew? :)

I don't know which month the headband I made comes from, but you can
find the original tutorial here. :)

You need:

-Rhinestone Trimming
-Jump Rings
-Thin Elastic
-Rhinestone Chain Ends
-Spring End Cap

DIY Rhinestone Headband
The first thing you need to do is cut a piece of rhinestone trimming to fit around the top of your head. Take the ends of the trimming and place them in the rhinestone chain ends. With the jewelry pliers, secure the metal around the last rhinestone. (Make sure the extra string is tucked under before you secure it.

After you've cut the elastic to fit your head, (in addition to the length With the spring end cap, slip the elastic into the spring end cap, close it with the jewelry pliers, and stitch the elastic to it. Alternatively, you can slip superglue into the spring end cap or you can do away with it all together and just stitch the elastic to the rhinestone chain ends. The spring end caps definitely make it look a little fancier. :)

And that's it!
